J.D., MA Mark Burton

Mark is a partner at California Capital Partners, an advisory firm focused on providing family owned and closely held enterprises with their growth, continuity and business succession solutions. CalCap Partners is a merchant bank providing transactional advisory, merchant banking and consulting services to family offices, start-ups, and low middle market and middle market ventures. In conjunction with Peter Beckett, Mark co-authored a white paper in 2014 discussing the future of the vapor industry and how it would eventually consolidate due to merger and acquisitions activities and governmental legislation and regulations.

Mark is also the founder and president of PopDaze Entertainment, a superfan focused digital multiplatform concentrating on the music, entertainment, and pop culture of the ‘60s through the ‘00s. He is professional member of the Recording Academy and received his Master of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music. In addition to his over 30 years of experience in the financial and legal industries related to private equity, family succession, and mergers and acquisitions, he was an editor for the Daily Journal Corporation, then headed by Charles Munger. He also was co-president of the Southern California Chapter of SFATA.
