Simon Clark
Director, FOREST
Simon Clark is director of the Freedom Organisation for the Right to Enjoy Smoking Tobacco (FOREST), a smokers' rights group founded in 1979. A former journalist and public relations executive, he has led campaigns against indoor and outdoor smoking bans, standardised packaging, and raising the age of sale of tobacco above 18. He believes the current attack on consumers (banning the sale of tobacco to all future generations of adults) in the UK raises serious questions about choice, personal responsibility, and the future of other recreational nicotine products.
