Ph.D. Elaine Round

Elaine Round is the Senior Vice President of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs at Reynolds, where she leads a team of scientists and regulatory professionals dedicated to ensuring regulatory compliance and advancing scientific advocacy. Her team plays a pivotal role in preparing and submitting applications for new nicotine and tobacco products, with an emphasis on non-combustible alternatives that may reduce health risks for adults who smoke.

With nearly two decades of experience in tobacco regulatory science, her career spans regulatory strategy and life sciences activities, with previous senior leadership roles at British American Tobacco, where she directed global research efforts in toxicology and life sciences to assess the reduced-risk potential of non-combustible tobacco and nicotine products.

Dr. Round joined Reynolds in 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
