Founder and CEO, World Nicotine Congress
Elise Rasmussen is the Founder and CEO of the World Nicotine Congress (WNC), which brings together health experts, politicians, and business leaders to explore the future of the industry, focusing on regulation, increased health awareness, innovation, investment, and law enforcement.
She co-founded Women in Tobacco and remains its Chairwoman, and is also a Past Master of The Worshipful Company of Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders. Elise continues to serve on the Council of the City Livery Club and on its Membership Committee, and is the Honorary Ward Clerk for Candlewick. Her work has been recognised with a Voices of Freedom Award from FOREST, and she was named the inaugural Woman of Distinction by OWNiT in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Elise founded the GTNF Conference and, for more than 17 years, broke new ground as the first global events organiser to bring the nicotine sector and public health experts together, stepping outside the traditional echo chamber to share the same platform and seek solutions in the harm reduction space. She was at the forefront of bringing elected politicians to speak at her events, alongside think tanks, national regulators, scientists, clinicians, and global health agencies.
She was also the Publisher of Tobacco Reporter, a 150-year-old publication she was involved with for forty years, as well as the Founder and Publisher of Vapor Voice.
